Children are never "gay"
Until they are influenced by "politically motivated" adults, media propaganda, or "well intentioned" counselors and organizations.

Q:         Was my child born gay?

A:         Absolutely not.  There is no scientific information to support this claim so homosexuality is neither innate nor immutable.  Follow this link for more information http://www.narth.com/menus/born.html , http://www.narth.com/docs/isminor.html

Q:         Where does homosexuality come from?

A:         Watch the 18 minute video at www.homosexuality101.com.  The largest collection of  scientific based studies will be found at www.narth.com.  Other videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SE6asGS5nI&feature=related , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prpjWSNc_zw&feature=related ,

Q:         What is SAME SEX ATTRACTION?

A:         If you do a GOOGLE search, you will be amazed.  This is one of the best we found … http://www.narth.com/docs/niconew.html

Q:         Is therapy permissible under guidelines of the AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION?

A:         Under APA guidelines, therapy for those not happy with their unwanted Same Sex Attraction is certainly acceptable.  While the current DSM-IV-TR edited homosexuality per se out of the disordered category, it unequivocally permits treatment for unwanted SSA (ego-dystonic homosexuality) under the category "Sexual Disorder NOS (Not Otherwise Specified). It is coded for insurance purposes as 302.9.  It only seems logical that for those who are confused, isolated, unhappy, and distraught over the realization they are attracted to persons of the same sex, options must be given to them.  After all, we are both talking about “choice” and “self determination”.  This is not a crusade to “change” anybody, only an attempt to allow full disclosure on the subject no matter how your or I feel.

Q:         How come it is so hard to find information on why my child is homosexual?

A:         Apparently there has been an abundance of censorship in public libraries, school libraries, and the media.  The failure of these institutions to site any of the innumerable texts or make it readily available to those performing research indicate a concerted effort to promote homosexuality as “normal”.   Limiting resources in this way will and certainly has lead one to a conclusion in line with those supplying the information.  The question then becomes “Was this information given to benefit the children or benefit those supplying the information?”  Albert Einstein once said something to the affect that “A problem can not be solved with the same level of intelligence that created it”.  Two great articles reflecting the history of the “gay” movement based upon the book AFTER THE BALL (http://www.amazon.com/After-Ball-America-Conquer-Hatred/dp/0452264987 ,  http://www.article8.org/docs/gay_strategies/after_the_ball.htm ) are:  http://www.narth.com/docs/1995papers/socarides.html and http://www.narth.com/docs/captive.html , http://www.narth.com/docs/presidentaddress1995.html .  Great background reading is THE TROJAN COUCH by Dr. Jeff Satinover, http://www.narth.com/docs/TheTrojanCouchSatinover.pdf .

Q:         Is the American Psychological Association the best place to find accurate information?

A:         Unfortunately not.   Mental organizations such as NARTH (National Association for the Research and Therapy of Homosexuality) and the American College of Pediatricians literature is clear that homosexuality can be readapted.  http://www.acpeds.org/index.cgi?CONTEXT=art&cat=10005&art=167&BISKIT=459885934

 Q:         What is reparative therapy?

A:         Reparative simply means to repair.  Actually, homosexuality and same sex attraction are basically a do it yourself method of repair vie therapy trying to repair some missing components of life.  Unfortunately, the results, like many “do it yourself” projects are not successful.  Once a greater intellectual understanding of SSA is achieved, alternative strategies to readapt this orientation will be exposed to the fact that change (if so desired) is possible.  After all, none of us would wish to discriminate against those unhappy with their sexual preferences.   As stated in the new book, Light in the Closet  by Arthur Goldberg, (Los Angeles: Red Heifer Press, 2008): "Those seeking to change their sexual preferences are now faced with a type of reverse discrimination. 'Forgotten is the homosexual who, out of a different vision of personal wholeness, legitimately seeks growth and change through the help of psychotherapy.'"  http://www.narth.com/docs/selected.html , http://www.narth.com/docs/PhelanReportSummaryFact.pdf

Q:         What books are available on the subject of Same Sex Attraction:

A:         The newest book, LIGHT IN THE CLOSET, was just published in October of 2008 (www.redheiferpress.com),.  Many others are listed on the resource page.

Q:         Do SSA children sometimes experience sexual abuse by older people?

A:         Unfortunately, yes.  A great example of this is the Greg Louganis story.  Picture if you will your 12 year old son (nephew, neighbor, friends child) being sodomized by a 20 or 30 year old man, then not reporting the violation.  Sound bizarre?  Read the Greg Louganis autobiography.  If that is too large a project, you can read the summary (beginning on page 2) written by Richard Cohen of the International Healing Foundation (www.internationalhealingfoundation.org). (http://www.charityadvantage.com/International_Healing_FounFDXHCY/images/2007-Fall.pdf

Q:         Why did the APA remove homosexuality from the list of disorders?

A:         Read the TROJAN COUCH by Dr. Jeff Satinover, http://www.narth.com/docs/TheTrojanCouchSatinover.pdf  , http://209.85.173.104/search?q=cache:9dWIZoKID30J:www.tilhelhet.no/spitzer-intervju.doc+www.tilhelhet.no/spitzer-intervju.doc&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us

Q:         How did society become indoctrinated to believing homosexuality was normal?

A:         That is a great question, glad you asked.  Read the book AFTER THE BALL.  You can find a summary at http://www.narth.com/docs/captive.html an interesting article at http://www.narth.com/docs/1995papers/socarides.html

Q:         Is it possible for the APA to make a mistake when there are so many people on the board?

A:         Sure, anything is possible.  An excellent example of this is their attempt to remove pedophilia from the list of disorders,  http://www.narth.com/docs/whatapa.html .  This was a big disappointment to the North American Man Boy Love Association (sound bizarre?  Link to http://www.nambla.org/index.htm

Q:         Isn’t it common knowledge is that 10% of the population is gay?

A:         If you read the PFLAG brochure it may seem that way.  This number is often quoted however if you do your own work, it always reverts to the Kinsey studies in the 1940’s or 50’s.  Interestingly enough, a recent by THE ADVOCATE (a “gay” publications) http://www.advocate.com/exclusive_detail_ektid53742.asp  recently put the number at 2.9% with runs parallels to the scientific community estimates of 2.5% to 5%.

Q:         Aren’t the number of health professionals that believe unwanted Same Sex Attraction can be treated a minority?

A:         Yes, and the biggest reason is that for over  35 years, the information taught in our beloved education institutions has been flawed and/or one sided.  There is movement underway now by radicals in the APA to outlaw any type of intervention.  Minority thinking does not automatically translate to wrong thinking.  Minority thinking once evolved certainly can be wrong and damaging.  The great news is minority thinking more often has lead to some of the greatest accomplishments in history (Galileo, Darwin, the Abolitionists, Thomas Jefferson, Mother Theresa, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Jesus).

Q:         Will the APA ever revise their criteria?

A:         This is an 8,000 pound gorilla without an easy exit for anybody.  The APA is taking a close look at the issue and has recently made some progress, http://www.narth.com/docs/apaleaders.html

Q:         Is  homosexuality genetic?

A:         No.  http://www.mygenes.co.nz/download.htm  , http://www.narth.com/menus/search.html?cx=007457206426124633447%3Adybvfspccfw&cof=FORID%3A11&q=genetic#944

Q:         Have people “changed”?

A:         Yes.  Success stories abound at www.pfox.org, www.jonahweb.org, http://www.exodus-international.org , http://www.peoplecanchange.com/   http://www.healinghomosexuality.com/  , www.pathinfo.org

Q:         Why do we not hear about SSA in the media?

A:         Great question.  As it turns out, the answers are all around us like a giant jig saw puzzle.  All you need to do now is put the pieces together.  Start with the frame work, then filling the middle becomes easier.  Read autobiographies on people like Rosie O’Donnell, Melisa Etherege, James McGreevy (The Confession), John Amerchie (Man in the Middle).  Watch Brokeback Mountain, The All Around Guy, and The Family Stone, paying close attention to the family or origin and family dynamics.  An interesting article on the history of “gays” in media can be found at   http://www.cultureandmediainstitute.org/articles/2008/20081008150647.aspx .

Q:         Does anyone from the “gay” community ever offer insights as to the hazards of the lifestyle?

A:         Yes they do, although not very often.  These links and articles may be offensive, read and visit with caution:

·         Homosexual U.K. Documentarian Says Gay Lifestyle a "Sewer" of Casual Degrading Sex and Misery .… www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/printerfriendly.html?articleid=08091011

·         Has www.manhunt.com Destroyed Gay Culture …..http://out.com/detail.asp?id=24005

Q:         What is “homophobia”.

A:         Here is an internet search:  http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7ADBR&defl=en&q=define:HOMOPHOBIA&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title  .    We see ads to “save the children” all over the world yet nobody wants to step up to the plate and help our SSA children at home.  If you speak up you will not doubt become branded as “homophobic” and “bigot”.   Please take a close look at these terms, break the words down then check the definitions.  You will then surely use common sense to see how they apply:

·         Phobia: An unreasonable sort of fear that can cause avoidance and panic. (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7ADBR&defl=en&q=define:Phobia&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title)

·         Bigot: A prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7ADBR&defl=en&q=define:bigot&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title

Q:         For men especially, is same sex sex dangerous?

A:         Absolutely.  http://americansfortruth.com/news/truly-scaaary-%E2%80%98gay%E2%80%99-health-quotes-2nd-annual-halloween-edition.html , http://www.familyresearchinst.org/FRI_EduPamphlet3.html , http://www.personal.psu.edu/glm7/m160.htm ,  http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/homosexuality/ho0075.html

Q:         Should we seek counseling for our child to overcome his Same Sex Attraction.

A:         Great question.  The answer is “yes” and “no”.  For 35 years students in counseling have been taught, incorrectly, that homosexuality is a normal variation of life.  It may turn out the counselor thinks the parent needs help, not the child.  The rule of thumb is “NO THERARPY IS BETTER THAN BAD THERAPY”.  You will want to read DESTRUCTIVE TRENDS IN MENTAL HEALTH  http://www.narth.com/docs/DestructiveTrends.pdf .  You will also want to find a counselor through one of the organizations on the research page.

Demand your school stop distributing the pamphlet entitled Just the Facts About Sexual Orientation & Youth A Primer for Principals, Educators & School Personnel .  This brochure has as a inaccurate and outdated information (http://www.apa.org/pi/lgbc/publications/justthefacts.pdf ).  Please take time to read the following information from Regina Griggs at PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays).  You can research updated information at the following links: http://www.narth.com/docs/deemphasizes.html  http://www.apa.org/topics/sorientation.html .

Just the Facts About Sexual Orientation and Youth demonstrates an irrational phobia of the ex-gay community.

It recommends censorship of ex-gay materials in schools and tries to deny the right of ex-gays to be open about their orientation.  Its opposition to sharing school access with ex-gay representatives demonstrates its own disregard for diversity and equal treatment.

Ex-gays have the same rights as gays do and should not be shut out of schools or silenced as Just the Facts recommends.  Many schools' sexual orientation non-discrimination policies would prohibit the distribution of any discriminatory booklet like Just the Facts.  Public officials may not impose discriminatory burdens or unequal treatment on ex-gays and their supporters.  Students and teachers have the right to equal access of ex-gay information on the same distribution basis as gay information.

Just the Facts mischaracterizes the nature and purpose of ex-gay organizations and transformational ministries.  It issues biased opinion statements with no factual basis.

Just the Facts should not be used in public school systems because it raises serious Constitutional issues.  It advocates a one-sided religious viewpoint.  Just the Facts endorses faith organizations that condone homosexuality and at the same time criticizes transformational ministries for believing that freedom from homosexuality is possible through faith.  The pamphlet fails to include arguments for any other religious viewpoint or religious organization which disagrees with its own religious views.  It lists as a resource a gay affirming religious organization yet public schools cannot endorse or promote one religious view over another.

The use of Just the Facts by the Montgomery County, Maryland Board of Education as a resource for teachers in its sex education curriculum was one of the grounds for our lawsuit against the school board.  In that case, a United States District Court granted our request for a temporary injunction prohibiting the Montgomery County, Maryland public schools from implementing its curriculum.  (See Citizens for A Responsible Curriculum & PFOX  v. Montgomery County Public Schools, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, 2005 WL 10756345.)  Because the federal court was “deeply troubled” over the discrimination present in the materials, the court ruled that plaintiffs would likely prevail at trial on First Amendment claims of viewpoint discrimination and an establishment clause violation.  As a result, the Board of Education was forced to remove Just the Facts and all other anti-ex-gay and anti-religious materials as school resources.

Just the Facts lists the National Education Association (NEA) as an endorser, but fails to recognize the National Education Association's Ex-Gay Educator's Caucus, an official caucus of the NEA which promotes ex-gay equal access to public schools.   In lieu of Just the Facts, a hateful and grossly inaccurate pamphlet, we urge schools to use Purposes of the National Education Association Ex-Gay Educators Caucus.  This pamphlet explains the goals sought by ex-gay teachers for diversity, tolerance, and equality for all --  including both ex-gays and gays.

Sincerely,
